A New Twist

Posted on June 13, 2024 by Analyst

Mexicos recent election has been precedent setting.   For the first time in their history a woman has been elected president. Claudia Sheinbaum’s recent win will likely bring change but something else of interest is the 38 assassinations leading up to this change.

Whether true or not, those reports bring into question just how things work and what possible bearing those assassinations had on election outcomes.   Either way, its a new era for Mexico as it enters uncharted waters.

Sheinbaum’s background has been listed as environmental science.   It is anyones guess if that means Mexicans will soon enjoy all the regulations and taxes Canadians do for environmental issues.  Also unclear is how she will deal with cartel problems.   Good or bad, change is coming.

The resulting apprehension has translated into a weaker peso.  Now might be the time to capitalize on a Mexican vacation.

Power Monitoring

If you don't mind giving away your data, there are many home monitoring solutions. None seem to offer the features of the old TED or recently departed IoTawatt. Too bad the useful ones disappear.
