“The Winnipeg North End Sewage Treatment Plant (NEWPCC) project is one of the largest wastewater infrastructure projects in North America.” Winnipegers are now feeling the brunt of it with a single time 27% increase. Buried in the bill, most haven’t yet realized the cause of the increase. Its not the water – you pay more than twice as much for the sewage.
Although the plant which services about 70% of of the city could certainly do with upgrades, they openly admit the scale to be larger than any other on the continent. That for Canada’s 6th largest city which is only about 750 000. It falls just lower than the number 18 position in the United States, Seattle. So how is it that a city of this size suddenly has the largest sewage project every envisioned?

Welcome to the fallout of climate the rhetoric and propaganda. “The plant is being upgraded to comply with Environment Act Licence requirements as mandated by Manitoba’s “Clean Environment Commission.” In short the “Clean Environment Commission” is responsible for the outrageous increase and exorbitant sewage prices Winnipegers now have to contend with. They say you get the governance you deserve and it shows. Most people have simply accepted the climate agenda without question. Dumping the narrative and examining the facts for what they are tells a different story but with organizations like the “Clean Environment Commission” being accepted as normal, don’t expect things to get more affordable, in fact, one can likely expect even more increases and control.
